Put me in coach, I’m ready to cook…today

Miracles really do happen and we have proof!  We have a stove!!  While I will not go into the ugly details of why Sears does not install slide in ranges and why certain contractors cannot figure it out, we now have a beautiful gas slide-in range that is ready for use.  In fact, we cooked our first meal on it on Saturday night.  Only problem was it was the hottest day in San Diego in the last 30 years and no one felt like cooking or getting dressed to go out so our first meal consisted of boiled pasta so we could make a cold chicken pasta salad.  Add to that a bottle of chilled chardonnay (our refrigerator does work) and some delicious whole grain bread. topped off with a Skinny Cow ice cream bar and you have a meal fit for kings and queens.  Don’t you just love that built-in wall niche?  I do…..aaaaah….life is good again…it really is the little things!

About hayniedi

What about me? In a nutshell I am a middle-aged interior designer and freelance writer, mother of an amazing 27 year old daughter, wife to my semi-retired lawyer husband and step-grandma to two delicious babies. From my earliest memories I have been fascinated with interior decorating and love to share my passion for beautiful rooms with anyone who will listen. Join me on this blog as my husband and I enter our empty nest years and move back into the first home we bought when we were first married that has been a rental for the past 15 years. I will share our experience with remodeling as well as other ideas and thoughts that I hope will inspire you.
