Good night moon…..

After a grueling weekend of moving nightmares and hassles I was all prepared to write a post all about saying good night and goodbye to the wonders of living in this house I have so loved for the past 15 years.  Imagine my surprise when I returned home for the last time after the final walk through by the new owners ( 4 days early to accomodate them) to find my living room full of their belongings including baby items and other personal paraphanalia!  Many of you would not have been bothered by this but I was terribly disturbed by the fact that someone who does not even own my home yet felt it was ok to fill my living room with their personal possessions.  I am fairly confident that if, in the next 4 days this place burned down or were to be burglarized they would not hesitate to file a claim with our insurance company but felt comfortable enough to fill my home up with their trash.  I am sure that I an over-reacting  but as a woman and a designer my home and my space is incredibly important to me and I dont really like anyone infringing on that space.

Oh well….good night dining room where we shared many special dinners with family and friends over the years; goodnight family room where holiday memories were born, a dozen high schoolers found peace and safety during the cedar fires and many a glass of fine wine was shared with good friends; goodnight kitchen and breakfast room where everyone seemed to gather during a party no matter how hard I tried to get them to  be comfortable in other rooms and many a grueling card game was fought; goodnight Jen ‘s bedroom where I tucked you in when you were ten years old, nursed you during your many months of recovery after your accident and continue to enjoy knowing you are safe and sound under my roof; good night master bedroom where many nights of “magic” happened (sort of), good night den/guest room that housed family and friends during overnight visits and good night garage where I parked my car each and every night knowing I was home safe and sound.  And good night moon that I enjoyed viewing from my living room deck in all its glory and promise.

Good bye home!

I can SO relate. We didn’t get to say a proper goodbye to our beloved Houston house. The new owners were bringing things by the carload while our movers were still moving us out. They had the door locked on me before I could even do a walk through…with some of my clothes still hanging in the closet! Sigh. Working hard to update our new-to-us house…right there with ya!

I MOST CERTAINLY would have been ticked to put it mildly! Tacky thing to do and totally unacceptable. Hopefully this unfortunate event is behind you now but I would certainly let your Realtor know how unprofessionally this was handled by the other Realtor. Now onto new and exciting times!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the lovely comment,
