Who doesn’t love a before and after of a beautiful room? We all do because it inspires us, gives us hope for our own spaces and is just fun to see the changes.
In this before and after you will see the view of a dining room in a 1980’s tract home that the homeowners wanted to freshen and update. And boy did they! We began in this room:
An outdated light fixture, heavy window treatments and a color scheme that was a bit outdated kept this dining room (being used as a game area) from being as inviting as it could be.
But a little (actually a lot) of warm beige paint, new artwork, Ikat patterned drapery panels, a new light fixture and some colorful furniture and accessories turned it into this bright and cheerful spot to work on a puzzle, play chess or just relax over a cup of tea with a girlfriend.
These homeowners wanted a casual and inviting California coastal look that still incorporated their love of strong colors like red and worked around some of their existing furniture. They were great shoppers and found not only amazing bargains but enjoyed time shopping for new artwork and accessories that adds that all important personal touch to any home. In future posts I will share their new furniture items and the overall color scheme we chose.
What do you think of this before and after?
