Incredible marching band salute to the military on this Veteran’s Day

american flag

I am a child of the military.  My father was a “lifer”, spending more than 33 years as a naval officer and serving in both the Korean War and three tours of duty during the Vietnam War with exposure to chemicals that ultimately took his life way.  As a father he instilled in us an incredible pride in being an American and an amazing patriotism that is with me to this day.  I am the silly person who gets goose bumps every time the National Anthem is sung or when I witness a fly-by or even when I see a group of young soldiers or sailors doing their job.  If my father were alive today he would so appreciate and enjoy this video performed by the West Virginia University’s marching band so, in his honor, I am sharing it with all of you.

Next time you are standing in line at Starbucks or McDonalds next to a man or woman in uniform, buy them a cup of coffee or a burger and, more importantly,  take a moment to thank them for their service.  It is the very least we can do!

Thank you to your dad for his service. You’re right – it IS the very least we can do and I plan to do it every time I see a military person in line
